Our day trip to Auschwitz is
tailored to suit you but to give you an
idea: our
driver, Stanislaw, will take up to 6 people in our Zafira.
You leave
Raba 500 after breakfast, any time between 06:30
and 09:30
in the morning, depending on how much time you want
to spend
there and the time of the year - in the winter, Auschwitz
closes at
15:00 so it's best to set off early.
The
journey of 1.5 to 2 hours takes you north west through
Jordanow,
Wadowice, Zator and on to Oswiecim. Stanislaw will
either
wait for you in the Auschwitz car park, or walk around with
you if you
wish. He does not speak English but knows where
everything
is that you should see, and information is provided in
English on
wall plaques and in the guide book. Otherwise, you
can go
round with a paid guide in a group. There is a museum
at
Auschwitz with exhibits, and a film you can watch if you wish.
After
Auschwitz, you return to the car and Stanislaw will drive you
round to
Birkenau II. There is a pizza parlour outside the camps
if you
want lunch. Again, Stanislaw can walk around Birkenau
with you
if you wish. There is no entrance fee to pay at either
camp.
We charge 300zl for the car, so 6 people pay 50zl each.
Stanislaw
drives you home when you are ready, and will stop for
photographs along the route when you want. Please note that if
you want
to take photographs INSIDE the museum building, you
must apply for
a permit before coming here. Outdoors is okay.
