Wieliczka Salt Mines
Our day
trip to Wieliczka Salt Mines will tailored to suit you but to
give you
an idea:
Our
driver, Stanislaw, will take up to 6 people in our Zafira. You
would
leave Raba 500 any time from 08:00 to 13:00. English
language
tours at Wieliczka are available all day until 15:00.
The
journey of 1 to 1.5 hours takes you north east through
Rabka
Zdroj, Msana Dolna, Dobczyce and on to Wieliczka.
Our driver
will park then accompany you to the Mines and ensure
you have
tickets for the correct tour.
Costs vary
but usually, the English language tour costs about
50-60zl.
We charge 300zl for the car for the day trip, so 6 people
pay 60zl
each, 2 people pay 150zl each.
He will
then return to the car and wait for you. Take your time:
there are
lots of interesting little shops around the Mines:
Stanislaw
does not mind waiting!
The guide
will take you down the initial flight of 380 steps: sounds
a lot but
they are in flights of about 14 steps and easily negotiated.
The tour
of the chambers usually takes about 2.5 hours and ends
at an
underground cafe. When taking the lift back up, wait until
the last
cage is available, usually the 4th cage, then you will be
quickly up
and quickly out..
We do not
charge you extra if you want to combine this trip with
a visit to
the Steam Train Museum at Chabowka, and/or the
wooden
church and ethnological museum at Rabka Zdroj.
Then the
next day, we can take you to the Tatra mountains....!
